Research Analytics Core Technology Access Grants (TAGs)
The Research-Analytics-Core (RAC) Technology-Access-Grant (TAG) program provides investigators with funding to access specialized analytical services. These one-time awards support research that advances biomedical science within the Alaska INBRE network partners and the broader Regional Alliance of INBRE Networks (RAIN). Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, with award decisions made within four weeks. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
Purpose and Services
TAGs are designed to help researchers acquire data and services necessary to strengthen their research, such as generating preliminary data, completing analyses, or methods development. Awards may be used at any RAC facility, including:
- ASET Laboratory (UAA)
- Genomics Facility (UAF)
- Alaska Stable Isotope Facility (UAF)
Supported services include sample analysis and consultation. The RAC team can also help applicants determine which laboratory is best suited to their research goals.
Funding Details
TAGs typically range from $3,000–$5,000 in direct costs. Requests above $5,000 must be well justified. Salary and student wages are not eligible for support.
Applicants must include a brief, justified budget after consulting with the appropriate RAC laboratory director:
Contact RAC leadership for questions:
- Dr. Patrick Tomco – ASET director (pltomco@alaska.edu)
- Dr. Matthew Wooller – Alaska Stable Isotope Facility director (mjwooller@alaska.edu)
- Dr. Devin Drown – Genomics Facility director (dmdrown@alaska.edu)
The funds must be used before June 30 of the fiscal year in which the award is made.
