Tailored Tracks for Professional Development

The workshop offers three customized tracks—student, investigator, and staff—to ensure content is relevant and actionable for each group. Each track includes presentations, skill-building sessions, and discussions that reflect the unique goals and challenges of participants.

In addition to the focused tracks, the agenda includes joint plenary sessions and shared networking opportunities that foster connection across disciplines and institutions.

Statewide Access and Rotating Locations

To promote equitable access across the network, the IGNITE workshop rotates annually. Locations are chosen to reflect the geographic diversity of the state and to reduce barriers to participation. This rotating model ensures that participants from all partner institutions—whether in urban centers or more remote campuses—have opportunities to attend and engage fully.

Collaboration Across the Research Network

IGNITE exemplifies the spirit of collaboration at the heart of the Alaska INBRE and EPSCoR programs. By bringing together researchers, students, and staff from across the state, the workshop builds capacity, strengthens connections, and supports the professional growth of Alaska’s scientific community.

IGNITE is more than a workshop—it’s a space to share ideas, spark new collaborations, and grow as a community.
